About

The playground equipment at Ashfield Park is now 10 years old, and has reached its life expectancy. Soon all the equipment will be removed before it becomes unsafe.

A group of local residents and parents has got together to raise funds to replace the equipment. The Ashfield Park Action Group need to raise at least £100,000 to install new play equipment in the three playground areas in Ashfield Park.

Our aim is not just to replace the current play equipment, but to let local children tell us which equipment they would like to see installed at Ashfield Park.

Fundraising

The Ashfield Park Action Group carry out events in Standish, not just to raise the money we need, but also to promote Ashfield Park, and make it a play area that our children can be proud of.

Since we started our campaign late in 2006 we have run a number of fundraising events, such as:

• Comedy Evening (Friday 23rd February 2007)
• Pampered Chef party (Thursday 22nd March 2007)
• Family Night (Friday 30th March 2007)
• Children's Easter Party (Tuesday 3rd April 2007)
• Race Night (Friday 4th May 2007)
• Car Boot Sale (Sunday 20th May 2007)
• Pampered Chef II (Thursday 14th June 2007)
• Sponsored Walk (Sunday 1st July 2007)
• Sportsman's Dinner (Friday 13th July 2007)
• Car Boot Sale (Sunday 29th July 2007)
• Swing Into Christmas (Saturday 1st December 2007)
• Children's Christmas Party (Sunday 16th December 2007)

You can help us too. Look out for local fundraising events either on our website or in the local press. If you or your company can give a donation, large or small, to our campaign, or if you have any suggestions which may help us, please contact us.
