Radulphus had two brothers of whom there is documentary evidence, Edmund and William. The younger, William, was a minor at the time of his father's death. Edmund acquired some land at Erlay (Arley) and founded a branch of the family who became known as the Standishes of Arley. Radulphus's wife was named Cecilia. He only held the manor for six years, dying in 1296. No record of any sons who might have followed him has been found and on his death the manor was claimed for his brother, William, who was still a minor. In fact a certain Thomas le Waleys claimed wardship of the young man in 1298. Wardships could be very profitable for the guardian. However, if le Waleys got the wardship he did not enjoy it for long for in two years time William was in possession of the manor in his own right.[1]
