About
St. Marie's Catholic Primary School provide:
- A nursery education for St. Marie's Pre-School children (mornings only, for a fee - Teacher i/c Mrs P. Cartwright).
- Primary education for children 5-11 within Wigan LEA.
- Before and After school club (for a fee).
- Various sports clubs for children.
- A wide and balanced curriculum supported by the Archdiocese of Liverpool and the Parish of St. Marie's.
We have had two very successful OFSTED inspections in 1995 and 1999 ("This is a very good school with very many strengths" - OFSTED 99). We were chosen by Chris Woodhead (Chief Inspector of Schools, OFSTED 99) as one of the schools nationally achieving high standards by results and inspection in the academic year 98/99, as reported in the press on 8th February 2000. The school has been invited to apply for 'Beacon' status for September 2000.
